ABOUT BEXLEY HOUSEHOLD SUPPORT FUND (BHSF)
The Household Support Fund has been extended for 6 months and we are pleased to let you know that we have been chosen as one of the organisations entrusted by Bexley Council to distribute this up to March 2025. This is a national grant funded by the Department for Work and Pensions, that has been made available to support those most in need to help with the rising cost of living. The Fund is intended to cover a wide range of low-income households in need including families with children of all ages, pensioners, unpaid carers, care leavers and disabled people. In particular, there may be those who are in need but are not eligible for other forms of government support at this time.
We might be able to purchase white goods, essential big items or gift them a voucher for food or heating. Please be mindful when referring as we are trying to support as many families as we can with the funding that is available to us.
Please can you make sure that when referring someone you take in to account the following and that awards are issued per household. FURTHERMORE THERE IS ONLY A LIMITED AMOUNT OF MONEY AND WE ARE TRYING TO SUPPORT AS MANY DIFFERENT FAMILIES AS POSSIBLE SO REALLY CONSIDER THE ITEM THAT WILL MOST HELP THE FAMILY.
Award criteria
Those you are referring to us need to comply with the following criteria:
A Bexley resident
Aged 16 or over
Be in financial hardship
Do not have access to any other funds that can be used to help alleviate their financial difficulties, such as other sources of cost of living support e.g. energy bills support scheme, cost of living payments, not considered eligible for public funds etc.
